Book Synopsis

Not so very long ago, Eragon—Shadeslayer, Dragon Rider—was nothing more than a poor farm boy, and his dragon, Saphira, only a blue stone in the forest. Now the fate of an entire civilization rests on their shoulders.

Long months of training and battle have brought victories and hope, but they have also brought heartbreaking loss. And still, the real battle lies ahead: they must confront Galbatorix. When they do, they will have to be strong enough to defeat him. And if they cannot, no one can. There will be no second chances.

The Rider and his dragon have come further than anyone dared to hope. But can they topple the evil king and restore justice to Alagaësia? And if so, at what cost?

This is the much-anticipated, astonishing conclusion to the worldwide bestselling Inheritance cycle.

I loved the entire series and if you do a it of reasearch, Christopher plans on writing more books. About the Forsworn and the next riders. Absolutely cannot wait.
  • Great story

It was a bit long winded, but a good story nevertheless. I am pleased this didn't turn into a love story and was able to institute a level of practicality and logic that overcame the "love conquers all" ideologies that have been misguiding youths since before the time of Twilight.
  • Great read!

This book... This book is one of the best I've ever read and I've read many. I've fell in love with some characters while strongly disliking others. I highly recommend this book, even though if you make it to the end you will be sad to see it go as have i. Long live Queen Nausada, long live Queen Arya-Shadeslayer, and may the stars watch over Eragon Kingkiller and Saphira-brightscales.
  • Best series ever!!!!

The Inheritance cycle is one of the best book series I've ever read!!!! I've read the whole series 7 times now and it never gets old. The ending always makes me sad though. Great job Christopher.
  • Love the story, hate the ending tho.

WARNING: This review contains spoilers so read at ur own risk! As the title says, I luv Eragon and I luv dis book, but the ending was too sad! For once, Aria actually accepted Eragon's feelings for her and Saphira had finally found a mate, but Paolini decided to make them separate for like forever! The least he could've done was make someone else king/queen of the elves and have Murtag and Thorn return to guard Alagësia! That way Aria and Fearnin wouldnt have to stay and Eragon, Aria, Saphira, Fearnin, the other elves, the eldunari, and the dragons that hatched from the eggs would have a nice, long, happy life restoring the riders! But no. Instead, Paolini decides to make it so that Saphira is probably mourning the absence of Fearnin for 100 years (same thing the other way around). This disappoints me! But i still hav hope tho. I Listen to the Eragon audio books on Audible and at the end, Paolini has an interview with his editor and he told her that he already had a cast of brand new characters he was preparing for an all-new series, still based around Alagësia and probably the riders and some evil more powerful than Galbatorix himself! So dont give up! Paolini has never disappointed me (excpet for this book's ending) and i believe that Angela may hav missed something in Eragon's fortune! As she said in the first book, his fortune was extremely hard to understand and she couldnt make heads or tails out of particular parts of the entire thing! I still have hope that Eragon will be reunited with Aria, Roran, and Katrina as well as Saphira with Fearnin. So dont give up! I belive in u Paolini!!!! -SpyroTheDragonX
